Uma Purani Uma Purani is a 16 year old who is deeply passionate about STEAMM, computer science, and teaching. She has competed in, and taught, Division B Science Olympiad subjects. She also teaches religion and computer science in her free time. She firmly believes that the true prize in Science Olympiad is not the medals, but rather the knowledge that can be gained. She hopes that the SMS Science Olympiad tournament is a fun and educational experience for everyone! |
Shlok Dholakia Hey everyone! My name is Shlok and I am a Junior at Parkland High School. I am an alumnus of the Springhouse Middle School Science Olympiad team as well as currently representing my high school in Science Olympiad. My favorite events are Density Lab, Circuit Lab, and Machines. I also love to play sports, especially tennis, soccer, and football. I can't wait to make our first tournament memorable for all of us! |
Rishika Rohatgi My name is Rishika Rohatgi and I am a junior at Parkland High School. I love to sing, play basketball, and am on my school’s debate and model UN team. I have interned for my US congresswoman, mentored youth for AMP Global Scholars, and started a mental health awareness initiative within my school. I also have a strong background in science, competing in both the middle and high school division of Science Olympiad, where I have placed at state and nationals. I currently coach crime busters. Creating Springhouse Invitational has always been a dream of mine, so I am incredibly excited to get started! |
Vaishnavi Joshi My name is Vaishnavi Joshi. I am 16 years old and I love drawing, painting, playing instruments, and all other things art and music. I have been involved in Science Olympiad for 6 years, whether as a student, as a coach, or as both. It has been an extremely rewarding experience overall and I am so grateful to be a part of it. As a part of this committee, I hope to channel my passion for Science Olympiad. I am a strong, driven leader and I am eager to make this competition as fun and exciting as possible! |

Pranav Balabhadra Pranav is a senior at Parkland High School and an alumnus of the Springhouse Middle School Science Olympiad Team. He has received medals at numerous competitions and was part of the team that place 5th at Nationals in 2019. He has participated in a variety of events such as Meteorology, Herpetology, Potions and Poisons, and Wright Stuff. Since aging out of the program, Pranav has been the Meteorology coach for the team and has participated on the Parkland High School Science Olympiad Program. In his free time, Pranav enjoys playing soccer, chess, and watching movies. |
Varsha Borkar Varsha Borkar is a sophomore at Parkland High School. She enjoys learning about all aspects of science, especially physics, engineering, and astronomy. She has been participating in Science Olympiad since she was in the 6th grade through the Springhouse Middle School Science Olympiad team. Since then, she has won many national-level medals for the team. She is now participating in Science Olympiad through Parkland High School. Other than learning about science, Varsha also enjoys dancing, singing, reading, and painting. |
Vedavyas Jampanaboyana Vedavyas is currently a co-president of the Parkland High School Science Olympiad program. However, he began his science olympiad journey long ago when he was first transitioning into middle school. Although throughout the last several years he has participated in a wide variety of events, his most memorable and high-achieving events were related to physics and engineering events... and his favorite event: Forensics. In addition to the high school Science Olympiad program, he is thrilled to be a part of this exhilarating middle school science event. |
Riva Kaneria Riva Kaneria is a sophomore at Parkland High School. She’s been competing in the Science Olympiad since 7th grade and absolutely loves it. She’s won medals at regional, state, and national levels for the Springhouse Middle School team. Since she now competes at the high school level (Division C) for Science Olympiad, she coaches Ornithology for the middle school team. Besides the Science Olympiad, she likes to participate in other science competitions, hangouts with her friends, travel, and paint. |
Sanika Kothari Hi! My name is Sanika Kothari and I am a sophomore at Parkland High School. Being a part of the Springhouse Science Olympiad Team since 6th grade, I have competed at many competitions, won at Nationals multiple times, and overall, experienced some of the greatest moments of my life. I am so excited to give other students from across the country a chance to compete in a new invitational and to work with my team to provide the best experience possible at the Springhouse Invitational. Evan Lan Hello! My name is Evan Lan and I am one of the Springhouse Middle School Invitational event supervisors. I am a current competitor in Division C of Science Olympiad and am fascinated with the biological and microscopic world around us, prompting my interest in Anatomy & Physiology and Heredity, the event I supervise. In my spare time, I enjoy biking and playing the violin. |
Varun Pandian Hello, my name is Varun and I am a Sophomore at Parkland High School. I participated in SMS Science Olympiad for three years. Through that time I learned major skills that helped me in my future. My favorite events were always physics related. I am always open to conversation and love giving back to the community. |
Sathvika Rajkumar My name is Sathvika Rajkumar. I am currently a sophomore at Parkland High School. I have participated in Science Olympiad for two years when I was in middle school. I have experience in various events. I love science and I love to try and learn new things. I am committed to put forth my enthusiasm and experience in the sciences and help today's students thrive in society. I believe that the curiosity in young thinkers is unstoppable. I strive to aid them into becoming great science explorers.I am dedicated to connecting to today's youth and helping them develop their passion in science. |
Ronak Singh Ronak is a senior at Parkland High School. In school, he enjoys his computer science, math, and science courses the most. Ronak was a member of the Springhouse Science Olympiad program from 7-9 grade, and he was a coach for the Reach for the Stars team from 10-11 grade. When he was a member of the middle school team, Ronak’s events included Microbe Mission, Hovercraft, Solar System, Rocks and Minerals, Solar System, and Disease Detectives. He is very excited to contribute and help make the first annual Springhouse Middle School Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament as smooth and successful as possible! |
Daud Tariq Hello everyone! My name is Daud Tariq, and I am one of the supervisors that helped make this invitational possible. I am currently in the C Division, and volunteer on the SMS team in order to support the program. I am an avid fan of biology, and for Science Olympiad specifically, Anatomy, Physiology, and Epidemiology. I am also the creator of the page you are reading! Dharshan Tharumia Dharshan Tharumia is a senior at Parkland High School. He has been affiliated with Science Olympiad since sixth grade. Dharshan is a Gold and Silver Medalist in Road Scholar at the 2018 and 2017 National Tournament and also is a Fifth Place Medalist in Microbe Mission at the 2018 National Tournament. Dharshan has been a Road Scholar student coach for the past three years. Outside of Science Olympiad, Dharshan has extensive research experience in computer science and engineering and leads two science research programs. Dharshan advocates for greater youth exposure in STEMM and hopes to share his passion with the future leaders of tomorrow. |
